AI in Our Tax Work

AE Tax Advisors uses artificial intelligence (AI) as part of its tax computation and planning workflows. AI may assist our team with organizing information, analyzing financial data, preparing preliminary calculations, comparing planning scenarios, and drafting explanations. The tools and the extent of their use may vary by engagement.

AI is a support tool. Professional judgment, reliable source information, and review remain essential to tax work.

How AI May Assist Computations and Planning

  • Information organization: summarizing documents and identifying missing information or inconsistencies for follow-up.
  • Preliminary computations: assisting with estimates, worksheets, reconciliations, and comparisons of potential tax outcomes.
  • Planning scenarios: modeling possible effects of entity structures, compensation, retirement contributions, depreciation, and transaction timing using stated assumptions.
  • Research and drafting: organizing research questions and preparing draft planning narratives, checklists, and educational explanations for review.

These examples describe possible assistance, not a promise that every tool or technique will be used in every engagement.

Professional Review and Responsibility

AI-generated calculations, research summaries, and proposed strategies require review before they are relied upon for client advice or a tax filing. Relevant inputs, arithmetic, assumptions, tax authority, eligibility requirements, and interactions with other tax rules must be checked by the responsible tax professional.

AI does not act as your tax preparer, sign a return, determine your final filing position, or replace the responsibilities of the professionals serving your engagement. Final advice and filing decisions depend on your facts, supporting records, applicable law, and the scope of the engagement.

Limitations and Estimated Results

AI can produce inaccurate calculations, incomplete analysis, outdated rules, or citations that do not support a conclusion. A plausible explanation is not proof that a tax position is correct.

Planning models are estimates based on the information and assumptions used. Results can change when facts, income, expenses, timing, documentation, federal or state law, or other limitations change. A modeled tax reduction does not guarantee actual savings, eligibility, or acceptance by a taxing authority.

Website calculators and educational examples are general information. Obtain individualized professional advice before implementing a strategy or filing a return.

Client Information and Third-Party Tools

AI tools may be supplied by third-party technology providers. Whether a particular tool receives client information, and how that information is processed or retained, depends on the tool, its configuration, provider terms, and the requirements applicable to the engagement.

Our use of technology remains subject to applicable confidentiality, privacy, and tax-information requirements. Any separate consent or authorization required for a particular use or disclosure must be addressed separately. This page is informational and does not itself authorize the disclosure or use of your tax-return information.

Please use the secure document-submission method provided by our team. Do not enter Social Security numbers, tax returns, account credentials, or other sensitive information into public AI tools or website forms unless the team has specifically directed you to an appropriate secure method. See our Privacy Policy for additional information.
